SELICHOT
To prepare ourselves for a successful and meaningful High Holy Day experience our tradition provides for us the Selichot service at the end of the Shabbat preceding Rosh Hashana.
This year Selichot is September 4. At the Selichot service, we begin to examine our deeds of the past year, seeking forgiveness from God, and promising to improve our behavior in the New Year. By ancient tradition the entire community, including men, women, and older children, attend the learning and service.
