TASHLICH
Saturday, September 19, 5:00 pm,
Baker Beach
For centuries, Jewish communities have gathered at the shores of
lakes, rivers, or oceans to throw crumbs of bread into the water on
the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah. This ceremony, led by Rabbi
Sydney Mintz, is called Tashlich and represents a symbolic casting
away of the transgressions of the past year. To get to Baker beach,
go south on Arguello Boulevard. Turn right onto California Street.
Turn right onto 25th Avenue. Turn right onto El Camino Del Mar.
El Camino Del Mar becomes Lincoln Boulevard. Follow the signs
to Baker Beach.
Dress casually (and warmly), bring some breadcrumbs, and join
us for this meaningful ceremony of song and personal reflection.
